About Gravarty

Photography for me has always been a way to express my creativity. It has also been a love / hate relationship that has spanned over 20 years.

I would class myself as a dedicated amateur with my first experience I can recall as a kid setting up a darkroom in one of my mums cupboards. The pictures were shocking, never quite managed to develop any photos and can fondly recall my mum screaming at me after I knocked the chemicals all over the floor and they started to run through the ceiling into the lounge room below.

In 1979 I joined the Royal Navy and took my camera everywhere I went. I amassed boxes of photos full of pictures I took during my travels.

In 1982 I served in the Falklands and swear I had the photo that would have made the front page of major newspapers worldwide, in my excitement at finally getting a photo I could hang my hat on, I dropped the camera out of a helicopter and that was that.

In 1999 I bought my first digital camera and have never looked back. I still use 35mm film occasionally for professional shoots but love the simplicity of the electronic media, which is just as well as my full time job is running a digital media company (www.react-r.com)

Feel free to look around. If you like what you see, you can drop me a line via email I would love to hear from you
